Meet the Founder – Severt “Tripp” Peterson III
Welcome to Slugfest Airgun Ammunition. My name is Severt “Tripp” Peterson III, and I am the owner of Slugfest, proudly based in Omaha, Nebraska, in the heart of the USA.
My journey began with a passion for Pre-Charged Pneumatic (PCP) airguns. My first PCP airgun was a Huben in .25 caliber, which I discovered through YouTube. I chose it for its semi-automatic capability, intending to use it for coyote hunting in rural Nebraska.
However, I quickly became frustrated with the poor accuracy and frequent jams of standard .25 slugs. With a background in gunsmithing — as a graduate of the Colorado School of Trades with a Journeyman Gunsmith degree — I decided to explore better alternatives.
After testing various options, I found that cast slugs improved accuracy to some extent. But like many competitive shooters know, cast slugs often vary in weight, which makes them unreliable for consistent, long-range precision.
That’s when I shifted my focus to swaged slugs.
As a former licensed ammunition manufacturer, I had experience producing custom-tuned .223 handloads for local farmers involved in coyote hunting. This gave me the foundation to begin developing high-quality, precision airgun slugs.
Along the way, I connected with Dave Corbin of Corbin Manufacturing. After visiting him and learning more about the craft, the idea for Slugfest was born — not just as a personal solution, but as a business built around something I truly love.

Five years later, Slugfest is now open for business.
Each slug is carefully handcrafted and individually weighed, maintaining an extremely tight tolerance of ±0.2 grains. This level of consistency, combined with optimized oversized diameters, allows shooters to achieve Minute of Angle (MOA) or even sub-MOA accuracy.
I specialize in producing oversized slugs for airguns — a category that is often difficult to find in the market.
